We provide full service ATP Test Monitoring to improve and to ensure that high level cleaning standards are being met. We can show you how well your cleaning program is working and which areas need more attention.
The first part of our process is always to test surfaces to see how many bacteria and viruses may be present. Surfaces are then tested after to show the after-effects of the cleaning / sanitizing / disinfection process that is used.
The UltraSnap Surface ATP Test is a clever and easy to use piece of equipment that uses a unique liquid-stable reagent that offers superior performance to other similar systems. Having gone through laboratory testing, the system shows a higher sensitivity than other ATP systems, allow us to pick up biofilms that other tests may miss.
Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) is the universal energy molecule found in all animal, plant, bacteria, yeast and mold cells. Residues, particularly food or organic residues contain large amounts of ATP. When left on a surface, residues can harbor and grow bacteria, cause cross-contamination, develop biofilm and lead to many other problems.
An ATP test is, therefore, considered an indicator test for the possible presence of these pathogens.
ATP inspections are based on swabbing a surface with an Ultrasnap testing device. The reading tells you if the surface has been cleaned within acceptable standards.
The quality assurance guideline for ATP meter inspections are:
Clean Rating ATP Count
Excellent: 11-30
Indicates that the surface is very clean.
Good: 31-80
Indicates that the surface is clean.
Fair: 81-200
Indicates that the surface should be cleaned and has some risk of contamination from disease-causing bacteria.
Poor: 201-500
Indicates that the surface needs cleaning and has a high risk of contamination from disease-causing bacteria..
ATP Testing can identify the cleanliness of high-touch surface "hotspots" that can be the cause of infections, flu strains, colds, and other viral contaminants that are present on your surfaces.
